  • Wear  rubber soled shoes for safety, hat or cap for sun protection.
  • We will have bottled water for you.
  • Cell phones stay ashore. That goes for family, significant others, pets, radios, music, etc. This is your time aboard
  • Metastatic survivors can bring a book/paperback, magazine to read, or use one from our rack. This is our Dottie’s Refuge for those living with cancer. Of course you can just curl up and nap too, your choice.
  • Remember to choose your snack when you call to attend.
  • Please understand that the snack choices respect how you will feel after your relaxation. Soft foods only! Your stomach is remembering your baby days in your therapy session. We firmly recommend that any health bars, sandwiches, etc. that you may have brought with you be eaten later.
  • Brewers Yacht Yards are one of the nicest, if not The Nicest marinas to visit. We ask attendees to come ~ 30 minutes before boarding time to take a deep  breath after arriving, perhaps check out their nearby rest rooms before boarding.
  • Handicapped parking is right at our dock, rest rooms are about 30 yatds away; very clean, nice! There is a patio table at the top of the dock to sit while waiting to be escorted down the walkway, dock, and up the steps.
  • The bigger the boat like the CHARMED ELISA, have more boarding steps. All attendees will be assisted boarding and leaving for their safety.
  • If you have someone(s) waiting ashore while you relax, we have magazines for them to read as well

46′ two mast Dufour CHARMED ELISA was built in France and sailed in the Mediterrean, as well as in the UK. Recently Capt Toohey has sailed her in the Caribbean with his wife Jill. While CHARMED ELISA has more than 8 beds, we’ve been given the comfiest to use  for your best experience. Plan to give yourself a well deserved cushy-as-a-cloud rest, you fighters all. Hoo-yah!

Capt Joy Sherman has been helping to make the deep relaxation happen aboard her sailboat HADO, which means “Energy”, for breast cancer survivors in our research, since October 2006. She now has HADO II to carry on our program.

Again,

  • For info on the program call Del Function 860.889.3424

  • And when you attend. think on doing selfies afterwards
